1.1 CRYPTO-TRADING PORTFOLIOS

Public Portfolio

A public portfolio is an individualised listing of crypto assets that belongs to a user in order to display its real performance to other BitKings platform users. Traceability is its main characteristic, implying that the initial portfolio value will vary according to the correspondent trading activity. Users are not able to add or subtract monetary stake in this portfolio.

Exhibition Portfolios

This sort of portfolio is also public to other users although they refer specifically to inside tournaments and challenges. Therefore, they will be subject under such tournament or challenge ‘requirements and conditions.

Private Portfolios

BitKings also offers the possibility of creating private portfolios which are confidential, not displayed to all users. Users are able to list different coins in this private portfolio and insert the real price paid when purchasing each coin, implying that traceability is not permitted. For instance, if I purchased XRP at $0.5 two years ago, this information will be held in my private portfolio.

Imported Private Portfolios

BitKings offers the possibility to import or obtain your real balances listed in real exchanges such as Binance, Bittrex, Bitstamp and so on.  These balances will be represented in this third Imported Private Portfolio although they are mergeable with the user’s current private portfolio.

2.5 VOLATILITY

Volatility aims to measure the risk of a tokenised assed or portfolio that describes the average width of its movements over time. The following formula applies:

2.6 SHARPE RATIO

The ratio is defined as the average return earned in excess of the risk-free rate per unit of volatility or total risk. In short, the greater the value of the Sharpe ratio is, the more attractive will be the risk-adjusted return to the investor as subtracting the risk-free rate from the mean will allow a better isolation of the profits associated to such assets.

The Sharpe ratio has become the most widely used method for calculating risk-adjusted return. Traditionally is calculated as Return of portfolio – Risk-Free rate divided by the standard deviation of portfolio’s excess return.

Since these traditional terms are not fully applicable in crypto-trading world, we have set the return of portfolio as the total performance of each portfolio balance. The following formula applies:
